Students at Northbrook Junior High School in Northbrook, Illinois, got the “ultimate civics lesson” as they learned to appreciate and celebrate their United States citizenship. They witnessed the Naturalization Ceremony of fifty of the nation’s newest citizens, who immigrated from twenty-five countries. They also had the privilege of hearing a powerful message from Sam Harris, a Holocaust survivor, a proud graduate of Northbrook Junior High, a board member of Citizenship Counts, and a humanitarian. Enjoy his inspiring words on appreciating the freedoms that come with United States citizenship!
